Brian Magargal

Brian Magargal, self-proclaimed painter of Mid-Atlantic beauty, has designed his art around several parts of his personality which directly reflects in his art.

From detail and highly refined traditional masterpieces to fun, loose and interpretive oil paintings, Brian also explores watercolors to control this sloppy medium, sometimes splashing color on a page and using ink to refine the subject. An art teacher of 30 years, he treats each of his unique products as a class and explores those products as he examines and learns about himself in an everlasting vision of self-exploration.
 
Brian makes prints of nearly every painting he creates; this is done to make his images affordable with each piece signed and sometimes numbered in limited additions. Originals are time consuming and therefore very special; after all, there is only one.
 
Brian's business name is Magargal Studios because being a creative soul, he also spends time creating furniture from wood he cuts and slabs with his own sawmill. These works engage the organic beauty of nature with the hands and foresight of and artist. Combined, this makes for some beautiful handcrafted furniture. Creating coffee tables, mantle pieces, and other items engages the three dimensional soul. Finding the beauty in wood saved from the fireplace is pretty cool.

Brian’s work is located in collections across the globe and expanding all the time. Some of his recent paintings explore the winter light in Key West after a recent trip there to warm the bones.
