A Wilmington tradition helping artists and makers earn a living from their craft.

For emerging and professional artists, Brandywine Arts offers juried, well-promoted festivals where local and regional makers are valued, original work is verified, and artists get in front of the people who buy, collect, and appreciate their work.

Art Festivals Built for Artists

When we took over Brandywine Festival of the Arts in 2010, we had a mission: we wanted our festival to help artists make a full-time living. We had watched other producers treat artists as an afterthought, and we built something different on purpose.

We know a festival weekend is a real investment for you. The booth fee is only part of it. There is travel, lodging, inventory, and setup time. You depend on people showing up. We take that seriously, so we put our work into the things that protect your investment.

We're here to take care of you and committed to making load-in, setup, and load-out as easy as we can. When you pull in, volunteers are there to help. There is coffee in the morning. Our commitment to our artists: You bring the work. We bring the people.

Our jury process protects artists who make their own work.

Every Brandywine Arts festival is juried for original, handmade work created by the artist who applies. That requirement is not a formality. It protects every maker on the grounds from the dilution that follows when buy-sell goods or mass-produced items are mixed into a show.

Maintaining that standard is how the show protects the reputation every participating artist works to build.

Just starting out? There's room for you here.

If you are just starting out, you do not have to be full-time or established to apply. For years, makers have used Brandywine as a kickoff spot, the place where selling on the side becomes a living.

Bring your original work, and we'll help you put it in front of the people who buy it.

Questions? We're easy to reach.

We know how frustrating it can be when you can't find the right person to answer your questions. That's why we make it a priority to be easily accessible. Call us, and you'll get clear answers directly from the festival organizers.
